Well. Mohism is a conceited driver of our culture, in case you haven't 'opened up your big x386 and Windows folders to delete stuff that doesn't make sense'. "Don't tamper with these files" and "Click to proceed". Mohism is a mystery to us like rock and roll was an American mystery before the occupation of Korea, Japan and Germany et cetera. Molosophy is easy to understand, it's always germane to family thinking; I don't leave home without it, why should you? In Jungian terms, I sure wouldn't want to stumble into the moat, or get any of that moat water on my clothes. Yuk.

Bright Demon. This is supposed to be "bright and attractive as seen in an Old Navy ad, or in a rap video"; instead, the various functional and apparently artifactual limitations of the dictionary leave us only with "demon" as a translation of the word here. I suppose by the time one leaves the Bohemian life and starts a career, the various people one knows, like the characters on MTV reality shows, My Name Is Earl and on Adult Swim, become somewhat negatively empowered vis a vis one's paycheck.

If one reads deeper into the "demon radical", however, one finds lots of material to support different crucial qualities like "cuteness", "uncanniness" and "awesome attractiveness", I mean, just what does one think all that anime and Asian ad copy is consisted of? The answer of course, is Fake Machivellianism, which is a useful yet more obscure translation of this word.

Or, African fate, as in "I decided that African Studies was the only way out of the problems of the post-MLK world that we (I) live in. The generalized look, "an orderly fate", certainly solves a lot of philosophical problems for very many people. The more specific use of the word, "African fate", has the possibility of leading one out of the cultural trailer park here in America, to work for a reasonable, enjoyable, paritous world. As Wild Cherry said, "Lay down the boogie and play that funky music til you die". Til I die? Til you die. Til I die?, I don't think so, I have to go shopping tomorrow. Or something. I don't know. There exists a level of trust, of standards taken for granted, within the Mohist or Mohist-like communities, that people are actually working their ass off to get it right; hence, the capacity to both celebrate one's self while not being overly conceited about it. Or maybe it's something to do with 'do it yourself'. Or maybe something to do with 'I can't enjoy the food you're eating; I need to go get some food myself.'

Alternatively, sometimes during a procedure on the tv show ER, the doctors and nurses launch into a barrage of technical language that one might find oneself trying to follow. There are a lot of extreme cases in that ER emergency room, the viewer might not benefit from being able to follow the jargon and nomenclature very specifically, maybe not at 10 or 11 on a Thursday night. So be it, if I ran a network medical show I might try to actually explain a little medicine instead of coaching the actors to be very self-empowered about the difficult and sometimes uncomfortable medical dialogue material. The self-empowered self-nature is an important part of doctoring, the show so repeatedly presents this self-nature, and ER definitely falls into the Mohist category. But then again so do many Butthole Surfer songs: "I saw an x-ray of a girl, passing gas". Populist professionalist, professional populist, it's all very good.

* 《田俅子》 3 books written. Think globally, act locally. Or something to do with replacing magic practice with techonology practice.

* 《尹佚》 2 books written; also a famous government official. How and why do very liberal-seeming people sometimes peel off from very conservative-seeming families? Ie, Reagan, Cheney, Hearst.

Scratching the surface of Mohism produces some common-sense material; it is certain that in practice, Mohism is a serious and cogent way to proceed from pre-adolescence to young adulthood insofar as it prioritizes physical love and the human genius of procreation. But then again, this main drive of society's continuing the species has been severly abused in the past, hence the mildly oblique and disaffected nature of this blog entry.
